University of Gothenburg Selects HUGIN AUV to Expand Autonomy in Marine Research

The HUGIN, which will be funded by grants from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and managed by a project team with representatives from the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and Stockholm University, will be recognised as a national asset for marine research projects around Sweden and further afield.

KONGSBERG Provides Integrated Vessel Concept for Pelagic Trawler Newbuild

KONGSBERG has signed a contract with maritime technology company Havyard Ship Technology for the delivery of a complete FISHMASTER® Integrated Vessel Concept for a newbuild pelagic trawler. The vessel is a collaborative effort between Havyard Ship Technology and the Paris based fishing company France Pélagique.

Successful final demonstration of SESAME Straits e-Navigation project in Singapore

The SESAME Straits project utilizes e-Navigation concepts to reduce maritime traffic congestion and hot spots, as well as improve traffic safety and efficiency. Leading up to the recent Singapore Maritime Technology Conference, the project conducted a successful demonstration in close collaboration with Maritime and Port Authority in Singapore.

Marshall Islands Flag State Extends Approval for K-Fleet Electronic Logbook

The approval states that K-Fleet Logbook may now be used to fulfil the requirements of the Marshall Islands Maritime Regulations to maintain a deck and navigation log, an engine room log, an oil record book, cargo record book, a garbage record book and a radio log.

Important agreements and events in the first quarter of 2017

In the first quarter, KONGSBERG has revenues of NOK 3,721 million and EBITDA of NOK 339 million. During the first months of the year the long-term potential within defence has been confirmed, and several important agreements for maritime and digital solutions have been signed. YARA and KONGSBERG enter into partnership to build world's first autonomous and zero emissions ship

The vessel 'YARA Birkeland' will be the world's first fully electric and autonomous container ship, with zero emissions. Operation is planned to start in the latter half of 2018, shipping products from YARA's Porsgrunn production plant to Brevik and Larvik in Norway.

KONGSBERG Completes Supply of Digital IP CCTV System for New Royal Canadian Fleet Supply Vessel

The Aberdeen, UK-based Kongsberg Maritime camera systems group has successfully delivered a new large network IP CCTV system to Chantier Davie Canada for installation aboard the new Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) Auxiliary Naval Replenishment Ship, known currently as 'Project Resolve'.
